WELCOME TO YEAR 6

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, I absolutely loved school and continue to enjoy learning as an adult. I am always trying to find something new to learn, most recently how to mend and build guitars, which I am still very new and unskilled at. I really enjoy sport, and all the benefits of playing team games have helped me immensely over the years, so it is a pleasure helping young people to find their interests as well as helping them to learn. My favourite thing to do is spend time with my family and mad dog Raffa.

I absolutely love teaching at Paston Ridings Primary School, and I am proud to work in such a caring, friendly school. As an adult, I am always learning new things myself, so I understand the importance of education. There is no better feeling than seeing a smile on a child’s face when they are engrossed in their learning or when they are proud of their achievements. When I'm not at work, I always have my head in a book. Reading is my biggest passion in life, and I am constantly adding books to my collection.

Growing up, I always thought I would pursue a career in medicine. However, circumstances caused me to reconsider. Thus, I made the decision to explore teaching. In order to make sure this was what I truly wanted, I volunteered in a primary school. From this point on, I developed a passion for being part of a child's learning journey and making a positive difference. I then went on to qualify as a teacher- the journey has been incredibly rewarding! As a primary school teacher, being able to teach a broad range of subjects and dig deep in lessons makes each day different. It is an honour to form positive relationships with the world's future citizens and instill them with a thirst for knowledge and a drive to make a difference.'
